Top 5 Best Books for Personal Growth!

I have high hopes for the new year! This year I plan to leave behind everything that didn’t serve and start fresh. No more excuses, just action. If you’re like me and have big plans for the new year, I’ve compiled a list of my 5 favorite books for personal growth and development. I don’t usually have a lot of time to read so these books cut right to the case, are very quick reads, and provide a ton of impactful information.

1. The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg

This is one of my hands-down absolute all-time favorite books for personal growth! I own a paper copy, I’ve got the audiobook, and the e-book version.

If you want to get rid of bad habits, or establish a new habit/ routine this book is the one book you need to read. This book dives into the neuroscience behind how we form habits, and how to effectively make long term changes to our habits. It also discusses how positive habits can have a profound domino effect in our lives.

2. The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra

The start of a new year is a great time to work on shifting your mindset. If you need to shift your mindset surrounding success and abundance, and want to manifest your dreams, this is the book! Deepak Chopra’s writing style is concise and to the point in this book making it a very quick read/ listen. Don’t let its length fool you though, it’s packed with information. This is a book find myself re-reading often.

3. A Complaint Free Word by Will Bowen

This book gives you a really clever easy system for shifting your mindset from negative to positive. The idea is that by becoming conscious of your words, and what you put out into the universe, this will spill over and shift your mindset and your life. The method is so simple and easy it’s one of those things that you wonder why you hadn’t thought of yourself. I don’t want to spoil the book, but hint hint its simple system has to do with the purple bracelet displayed on the cover.

This book is a very captivating read. It’s full of inspiring personal stories from the author and others.

4. The Inner Game of Tennis by W. Timothy Gallwey

At first glance, you might think that The Inner Game of Tennis is just a sports book, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth, it is so much more! This book is all about mastering peak performance in any skill.

Getting to the top in any field, or with any skill is all about your mental game. You will learn how to practice, maintain concentration in the face of distractions, and how to get rid of all the mental roadblocks that cause us to get in our own way.

5. The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

The Four Agreements is another quick read that gets right down to business. The author outlines four principles to live by that will free you from limiting beliefs and self-doubt. It will also give you a new perspective on your interactions with others, and improve your communication.

I hope you enjoy these books as much as I do. These are my go-to books when it comes to personal growth. They each provide so much information with a straight forward delivery. Trust me you’ll find yourself referring back to these books time and time again for the valuable advice they provide.
